Conservation: Haplochromis sp. 'golden duck' is not evaluated by the international union for the conservation of nature in the iucn red list of threatened species. Harpagochromis sp. "golden duck" should be considered threatened due to the ecology of their habitat. Present status of wild populations is unknown at this time.
