Conservation: Lugubria ternetzi is evaluated by the international union for the conservation of nature in the iucn red list of threatened species as (LC) least concern (2020). This species is common in many sites along most of the length of the Oyapock River, but this species occurs in some areas impacted by gold mining, which may pose a risk to it (Taphorn & Rodríguez-Olarte, 2022).
