Original reference as Telmatochromis sp. 'dhonti yellow':

Conservation: Telmatochromis sp. 'dhonti yellow' is not evaluated by the international union for the conservation of nature in the iucn red list of threatened species. Technically this information is unknown but since T. sp. 'dhonti yellow' has been observed at three different locations at a depth of 15 meters or more and always near a few rocks over a mostly open sandy bottom there is very little that would threaten such a small species. So, even if more data would have been available it would have been classified as Least Concern.
