Conservation: Ophthalmotilapia sp. 'paranasuta' is not evaluated by the international union for the conservation of nature in the iucn red list of threatened species. The status of this undescribed species is not evaluated, but its rather restricted range and main distribution inside overcrowded Burundi make it vulnerable. The impact of trade fishing is currently not significantly high.
