Conservation: Aulonocara sp. 'lwanda' is not evaluated by the international union for the conservation of nature in the iucn red list of threatened species. Aulonocara sp. 'lwanda' is very much threatened by over-fishing by collectors of ornamental fishes. Its distribution is rather limited and the total number of individuals is certainly less than 1000.
