Conservation: Aulonocara korneliae is evaluated by the international union for the conservation of nature in the iucn red list of threatened species as (VU) vulnerable (2006). With deficient data. Aulonocara korneliae is not threatened as the area around Chizumulu Island is very rocky and large beach seines cannot be employed.
