Conservation: Taeniacara candidi is not evaluated by the international union for the conservation of nature in the iucn red list of threatened species. Due to its rather large distribution, which mostly covers areas of pristine rainforest (especially in the Rio Negro region) its survival in the natural habitat should not be a matter of concern, at least for now.
