Conservation: Cunningtonia longiventralis est évalué par l\'Union Internationale pour la Conservation de la Nature dans la Liste Rouge des espèces menacées comme étant (LC) Peu menacée (2006). Cunningtonia longiventralis is not a very common species of the shallow intermediate habitat and seines cannot be employed in these kind of areas. Since C. longiventralis is a pure vegetarian it is unlikely that sufficient numbers can be caught with hook and line to have an impact on the population density.
