XVII. Fishes of the Yucatan Peninsula

By Hubbs, Carl Leavitt

The Cenotes of Yucatán, a Zoological and Hydrographic Survey, (457)157-287 1936

Classification: Taxonomy and phylogeny, North America.

Language: English

Comments: Cichlasoma fenestratum (page 254) quite likely refers to Paratheraps bifasciatus, foud in the Champoton river (Juan Miguel Artigas Azas, 06-Jun-2015). The small specimen referred to as Cichlasoma fenestratum has been reidentified by Miller (2006: 382) as Vieja synspila, currently a synonym of V. melanurus (Rico Morgenstern, 01-May-2017).
