I can't identify my Parachromis...

Post by PWNenterprises » Wed Oct 16, 2013 3:22 pm

I can't figure out what this thing is...

I am not a total scrub when it comes to cichlids but i have no idea what type of Parachromis this is.
The only thing I know for sure is that it is not a Jaguar (managuensis).

I think it is P loisellei, but it might be P fridrichsthalli

Most varieties of P fridrichsthalli have vertical bars, which your fish does not have - but a few varieties go without. Still, these varieties have a thinner line (nose to tail) - and a 'meaner' face - as far as I have seen. And that's the point, I have not seen all varieties, so I can still be wrong

But it is not P dovii, P managuensis or P motaguensis

The store I bought it from said it was a freddy, but I was curious as they look so similar until they are fully grown.
