It's just called a Buck a Bag auction. People bid on the fish they want and the price will never be less than $1. There is very often competitive bidding among the members.

It's called "Buck-a-Bag" because the club keeps a dollar from each lot that sells in the auction, and the seller gets the rest. These auctions can be fun. Sometimes things go for a respectable price, but usually the buyer gets a great deal. Because all Breeder Award Program (BAP) spawns go into this auction, for someone new to the club, it's a great way to fill your tanks with cichlids you never had access to before!

Bringing six nicaraguense - another hot mover! Finally spawned them though after trying some 25+ yrs ago. Very pretty and peaceful fish even if they don't sell for much...

Sounds good, Carl. I'll be putting them in the BAP. I plan to keep a half dozen to grow out again and then have 5 or 6 more and that's about it since I sold the pair at the Extravaganza.

That's a good explantation Lew. The essence of the Breeders Award Program is to
facilitate the diversity of cichlids within the populace of the club.
I've gotten fish at club meetings that I never had access to prior to joining the club.
