Young Pair of Paretroplus nourissati / 'Lamena' spawning

Post by Jim Cumming » Sat Dec 05, 2015 3:18 pm

This young pair of Paretroplus nourissati are spawning for the first time. I presently have four adults (~6"/ 15 cm) and ten young adults (~3"). This pair are from the 'young adult' group. I'm hopeful that they will complete their spawning successfully and that I will be able to raise a small batch of them. I had a spawn of this rare Madagascan cichlid a couple of years ago, but had little success in raising the young. They are quick to eat their eggs, so I'll be pulling the spawn as soon as they're finished.

Hey Nick. No, not this time. The eggs 'disappeared' shortly after the spawning took place. They haven't spawned since but it will be soon I hope.
