Paretroplus menarambo / Pinstripe Damba Pre-Spawning Activity

Post by Jim Cumming » Mon Sep 28, 2015 11:12 am

My four year old, 12" pair of menarambo are in spawning dress, and getting ready to spawn. The odds are very much against the spawn lasting very long since there are a bunch of marauding 2" Vieja breidohri in there that have one thing in mind ... . If I happen to see the pair tomorrow with eggs, I'll pull the spawn right away. Love the inky blue fins with the red edging. A spectacular species, close to being extinct in its native Madagascar.
