This is the prettiest pike i have ever seen in person.

I believe it is the beautiful Crencichla compressiceps

It isnt compressiceps. It is - I think - reticulatus (''type locality'': Manaus)

A male Crenicichla reticultata. As far as I know this species is easy to recognize as it's one of the two species which have the nostril close to the lips . The other one is Crenicichla johanna, member of lugubris group.

Does anyone know why the FEMALE has the spots on the dorsal fin?
