sp 'Coatzacoalcos' group.

Post by Lee Nuttall » Thu Oct 14, 2010 4:44 pm

Hi,

Thought i would share some photos of my sp 'Coatzacoalcos' group (Rio Grande). I have seven fish with two pairs formed. They share the tank with a Vieja regani pair and a few smaller Thorichthys growouts.

Full tank profile:

The two pairs gill flairing over territory issues. The newly formed pair have staked a territory only 3ft away. :o

Nice fish. Here is two pictures of mine Coatzacoalcos. It seems that mine have more pink/red noses than those on your pictures. Mine was collected by a fellow Norwegian aquarist together with Artigas.

Hi Henrik,

Very interesting to see other variations of these cichlids being kept. I think that both Rio Grande and Rio Junapan are the most widely kept and look identical. I'm very interested to see how the Rio Carolina fish develope.

Out of interest, both pairs spawned in the aquarium last night at opposite ends. This will be interesting to see what happens. Spare tanks are ready just incase.;)

Photo of the original pair depositing eggs.
