A Freddy arrived this morning.

Post by John Heaton » Thu Mar 18, 2010 9:19 am

One of my nine year old expert fishermen brought one of his latest captures this morning.
I am very sure this is one of our native cichlids the Parachromis friedrichsthalii. We have not seen these guys for a long time. It was caught off of the beach below my house.

He is 5 inches the biggest guy in the tank. I hope he doesn't start any trouble.

nice size. I found Freddys to be one of the mild behavior Parachromis, but of course smaller the tank, more troubles to expect.

Awesome fish. I have always liked these fish. The six I have are about the same size as yours and they aren't really that aggressive yet. Only time will tell. Good Luck.
