Spectacular fish, Marko!
Are they good parents and very aggressive with the Vieja or not?
The new tank seem to work very well!

Ciao Enrico

the petenias are the most gentile centro american I ever had. they protect their fry with threatning but never really injure other fishes. the vijea are the agressive fishes in the tank and the one that make problems.

Today I'm a bit less jealous: They produced eggs!!!!

@ the size estimation - it is quite often possible to guess, because of sand or something in the background, but also because fish, when growning, change slightly in their proportions. Petenia does change quite dramatically:

My female is, I think, 18 cm, the males (I got 2) are somewhwere near 30, 35 cm. Those males have - relatively - an almost twice as high body as the femele has.
