Thorichthys Pasionis difficult to breed?

Post by CA cichlid dude » Sun Nov 26, 2017 11:52 am

I have heard they can be difficult to spawn, and when they do, it’s not often.
I am curious, because have two that seem to have paired. They have been defending a corner of the tank and look like they are in breeding dress. No other signs so far.

Still no spawn. The pair still has a cleared out area that they are defending. I made a change in feeding area in the tank to see if that helps. It’s a 6’ tank, so the other end is far away from their area.
My question is, how is spawning triggered? Season? Water temps?
