Advice with Thorichthys passionis

Post by Patricio Miguel » Thu Jan 26, 2017 7:50 am

Hello all. I need your opinion regarding my passionis. I have 1 male and 2 females. The male paired with one of the females and spawned a weak ago. Yesterday the fry was probably eated by the male. The point is that the other female is in breeding dress, and showing some aggression towards the other female. What's the best thing to do? My biggest doubt is if the male will only mate with the female he choose first, or will he pick the other one.
Thank you

I've had numerous species spawn with two females or more in the same tank. Sometimes in the same location!
If you're worried, I suggest removing the female he recently spawned with so she can recoup elsewhere.
He will spawn with other females. Remember, these are on the low end of the food chain and their goal is to make as many babies as possible!

What size tank? Are there two obvious territories at either end?

One might consider to establish some obvious territories at either end with a decent break in line of sight in the middle!
