thorichthys ellioti

Post by cornbread_5 » Sat Sep 06, 2014 3:20 pm

I recently purchased 5 of these guys from a lfs . they are really aggressive towards each other is that normal. I started with the five now I am down to three of these guys.Is this normal behavior I have them in a planted 40 gal breeder with a school of rummynoses and a school of dwarf rainbows, with some polka dot and zebra loaches, two gold gourami,3 torpedo barbs ,3 siamese algae eaters and three panda garras . Any help advice or info on the ellioti would be useful

In general Thorichthys are for c/a cichlids quite peaceful, however ellioti/maculipinis are easily the most aggressive of the group. To aggressive for your size tank in my opinion.

In 200 liters, depending of the size of Thori, major Thori woul be agressive. Especially if the decor is not important.
