Paraneetroplus bifasciatus 'Rio Chacamax': Stunning!!

Post by Jim Cumming » Thu Nov 28, 2013 12:03 am

Here are a few pictures of my adult Paraneetroplus bifasciatus 'Rio Chacamax'. I have two breeding pair in a 180G along with some other CAs. They are about three years old now and continue to amaze me with their 'mind blowing' color. They are F1s from Rusty Wessel's WC stock.

Wow notho, they are absolutely amazing. Are they easy to breed and what kind of parents do they make?

Thanks jazzman. Mine have bred for me many times. It's like pretty much any other cichlid ... give them the right set of conditions in terms of room, water quality, food, physical structure, tank mates, and the rest follows. These are large fish (M-11", F-9") They make excellent parents.

Hi Jim, they are absolutely amazing.
First please forgiving my English. I am a Chinese, Paraneetroplus bifasciatus has been translated into Chinese as a very beautiful name “Apple”. And this cichlid divided to two (2) types “Red Apple” and “Golden Apple”.
I pasted two photographs provided to my friends.
I know you are very professional in this fish.
Would you mind to tell us how many kinds of Paraneetroplus bifasciatus divided into.

???? These photos have not been altered in any way. A little arrogant for you to imply that they have been "doctored". Or am I misinterpreting your comment? If so, sorry.

Phillipe, I can understand your comment about the color not being 'real'. I've often questioned the reality of photos that appear on line and I know many have been photo shopped 'beyond real' to enhance the appearance. If I didn't have these in my own tanks and see them 'in the flesh', I would be skeptical too. They are one of the most colorful cichlids I have ever kept.

I to think the Chacamax Bifasciatum is one of the nicest CA

Here is a picture of my male. I moved them on because the pair spawned every three weeks, I was over run with little bifas!
