Post by Concaj1 » Sat Nov 16, 2013 11:42 am

Hi All,

I am rubbish at sexing my fish, not always sure what I am looking for.

Could anyone confirm the sex of my Texas, I assume she is female but need confirmation before a introduce a larger male to the tank

Thanks

Hi Jim, looks to be a female to me. The dorsal seems to have dark patches in it which is a female trait, you should be ok with the male your having....it may still be a very rough ride though, have a divider ready.

Agree with Graham
I see the dark area in the dorsal, and the profile also appears feminine.
Not that these are Texas, but closely related

compare the slope of the profile in the female above, to the make below.
