Thorichthys callolepis F1 'Rio Carolina' spawn

Post by davidefc » Mon Jun 13, 2011 12:33 pm

My group of 6 F1 Thorichthys callolepis F1 'Rio Carolina' recently spawned, around 50 eggs have been layed on 2 rocks, the female is in breeding dress while the male is still in normal colouration. The eggs have still not hatched, heres pictures from yesterday when I noticed them, this is their first spawn.

I will update as they go along.

David, do you still keep these fish and was the spawn successful?

I have been trying to research the callolepis and locate them. There are some references from the UK and Germany, but I'd rather not try to order from overseas.

Let me know if you were able to raise any of the fry! I would be very interested in learning more about them and dedicating a tank to some!

Thanks,

Jeff

Congrats on the spawn, and hope you get fry soon.
Wish I could view the pictures. I love this species.
