This sounds like fun... but this country is just way too big...

A sizable snowfall happened a few years ago, although it was nasty wet stuff. Occasionally there have been light flurries.

It is one of the greatest times, short of a good ACA convention, and much, much less expensive. Plenty of good fish to buy, and a pretty fair show. Always some fantastic speakers, and lots of people to talk to. Free Pizza on Saturday, though, is the main reason I go when I have the gas money.

Isn't the registration fee $35 w/ the T-shirt this year?

Yes Andrew, you're correct. Registration and a T-shirt is $35. Sorry for the confusion I posted this before our current costs were known. I'll update the original post.

since I'm allowed to come (and behave well) I might as well bring a PowerPoint presentation. what would you guys say about me giving a talk on the history/geology of Central America and the origin of the cichlid fauna, based on studies of Concheiro et al (2007) and Hulsey et al (2006)? I could also comment on the revision of Archocentrus (Schmitter-Soto 2007) if you wish.

expect me to show distribution-maps and pictures of many of the Central-american cichlid genera, like Nandopsis, Herichthys, Thorichthys and Paratheraps (or is it Vieja?).

would all that be any good?

Perfect! I think we have a deal. See you there!

Seriously, we are very happy to have Willem in a return engagement at the OCA's Extravaganza in 2007. Willem is a great friend to the OCA and we look forward to seeing him again.

On behalf of the OCA, thanks Willem, we appreciate your support and willingness to come over to our show.

Dan, please don't forget the faithful visitors from Canada. Your Extravaganza has become an annual event for us and we will bring even more "cichlid nuts" with us this year to get hooked on this amazing event.

See you in November :D
