strange vertical swimming behavior

Post by hannopj » Sun Aug 21, 2005 1:17 am

i have some sort of hybrid african cichlid that is several years old. the last couple of weeks he has had a strange vertical stance in the top of the tank, head up. he still eats fine and every once in a while he will sort of snap out of it and swim normally. any ideas of what it is??? swim bladder maybe? otherwise externally healthy.

It is probably getting picked on by other fish in the tank. It is typical for a subdominant fish to hide out in the top corners of the tank.
