Well, you just can't say that you can put in X amount of fish into a tank. Your 150 could easily hold over 100 neons, but you can't put in 100 redtailed catfish! You have to let us know what species of fish you'd like to put in your tanks before anyone can give you a basic idea of how many fish you can keep in them. You should also let us know what species of fish you do already have in your tanks.

How many fish

Post by Willy » Wed Nov 24, 2004 4:38 pm

:? Hello there,
What can i say from this distance?
There is a kind of standard rule for your problem, oldfashioned, but oh so true.
Normally we say that a fish with the length of your average finger(7cm) needs minimum 2 gallons for living.
This you can change a little bit when you have good oxygen-and filtersystems.
Do you change some water every week?
Of course cichlids need more room, because they are very territorial.
And don't forget that is much better to keep fish together, that more or less live togethet in the same habitad.
So at least one of your fish is on the wrong place.
I see a lot that people in the USA and Canada are keeping the wrong fish togethet in tanks that are much to small.
When you do it the right way,you will see much more of the natural behaviour of your animals, and they will feel better and maybe even sporn!.
I hope my info helped you a little bit,but when you want more then e-mail me please at whbijker@hotmail.com.
Thats holland,succes,Willy Bijker

How many fish 2

Post by Willy » Wed Nov 24, 2004 4:43 pm

Afterwards i saw how many fish you have,i am really shocked!
When you have a cichlidtank, then you can put some catfishes, like i said, better from the area, but not a zoological collection like you have!!
And please, give us the Latin names, not everybody understands the USA names.
Succes.Willy
