hybrid Malawi cichlids

Please help me understand this I've read so many posts by people on chat forums saying hybrid Malawi cichlid fry destroy them don't you think in nature half the cichlids maybe all have originated from cross bred fish it's a load of tosh an it's annoying me

Actually, most present cichlid species evolved from some other progenitor species and not crosses between two different species. In the wild cichlid species will breed only with their own species, if available. Otherwise it is "any port in a storm" kind of thing. :lol: Most people don't want hybrid species and won't buy from people they know sell hybrid species.

Some just want pretty or cheap fish and don't care. Many people care a lot about the lineage of their fish.
