Quick question

Post by fsudude11 » Tue Apr 07, 2015 7:58 am

I've got 2 Convicts in a 55 gallon tank. There has been a little scraping, but I've read that cichlids tend to do this to show off, and it's hasn't been regular by any means. Today, however, they started doing something else strange. I haven't had any aggression issues between the two, and today they more or less started attacking each other, but instead of trying to kill each other it seems like they stop short and just mouth each other lightly, and one of them has started biting some of the hard structures in the tank, it almost seems like he's a baby teething, just chewing on things. My question is, is this normal behavior, because I've kept Cichlids for a few years now, but these are my first Convicts and I'm well aware that Cichlids are like people, and no two species or even singular fish for that matter, has the same personality.
