stubborn discus

Post by daveritchey » Sun Oct 25, 2015 8:27 am

I have a very stubborn red pigeon blood discus on my hands, I purchased a red turq a few weeks ago from se Asia, made up some hans discus beef mixture and started feeding him, he was hesitant at first but now he hunts it like a wolf when I do my daily feedings. hes put on a lot of weight and is doing great, so I purchased this pigeon blood from the same dealer, he refuses to eat anything but blood worms.i have stopped feeding the blood worms 2 days ago and he still refuses to try the hans recipe.
so I'm on day three and our test of wills continues, whats even worse, he comes out to eat when I feed the tank, and when he sees its the beef mix, he actually then goes and hides in the corner. seriously I feel like he is pouting lol. he has to give in eventually right? I know once he starts eating it he will go nuts for it like my other discus. what do you folks think? stay the course and stand my ground or should I give in to him?
