Oreochromis grahami

Post by Don Hiatt » Wed Jan 04, 2006 11:47 am

I didn't see a listing for Oreochromis grahami on this site. I remembered this fish after the subject of the Iranian Cichlid came up.

I have seen some nice pictures of this fish and it is a very attractive Tilapia. Anyone breeding this species??

Oreochromis alcalicus is another species that is found is the same kind of habitat as Oreochromis grahami.

Both of these species are found in mineral rich soda lakes, but I know that Oreochromis grahami can be kept in freshwater.

I believe that they were reclassified as Alcolapia rather than Oreochromis, unless they were switched back while I wasn't looking.

Alcolapia alcalicus was around for a little while. I had a nice group, but unfortunately killed them all.
