very quiet

Post by Simon Morgan » Sat Aug 13, 2005 11:25 am

It's seems very quiet on this board. Where is everyone? I can't be the only person interested in west africans.
I am breeding Steatocranus casuarius and trying to breed S. tinanti, any tips for this species?
I've also been successful with P. pulcher and P. taeniatus and I'm looking for Tilapia joka, other Pelvics and Orthochromis

For the joka, check with Bob Stevens at http://www.commonwealth.net/bob
He has them for $10. I picked some up from him at ACA, and they are amazing fish.

Lots of people are interested in these fish. Do you have any questions or even just observations on any? We like to hear it all.... :)

I do like these fish, and they are interesting. In fact, I name beer after them. Here's an example:

Fantastic !!! What a brilliant combination of hobbies you have !!!!
There are some fantastic West African fish, I wish I had a bigger fish house so that I could keep some (I did have a couple of geographical varients of P. taeniatius, 'Nigeria green' and 'Nigeria red', several years ago). 'Cichlids from West Africa' (Horst Link & Dr Wolfgang Staeck ISBN 1-56465-166-5) is a great book on this regions fishes.

Though some people from the USA would rather sit around and drink beer in front of their televisions, I prefer to drink beer and watch my fish!

Hey Joe! Make a 'red' beer that makes your lips a bit rosy and call it RUBROLABIATUS LAGER
