Konye (Konia Eisentrauti) and unusual juvenille colour sport

Post by Tom Williams » Mon Dec 11, 2006 6:51 am

As some of you probably know, i hold 3 breeding colonies of these delightful fish.

Out of a recent bunch of fry maybe 4 months old, i have noticed that a few fish are not coloured as their parents but are completely black with red eyes and fin tips.

I can be sure their parents are the real mccoy and not hybrids as they came from stock held by Anton Lamboj. Does anyone know if this is a natural sport or have i a freak pair of parents with an oligomelanic gene which has thused caused this mutation. I am interetsted to see how they grow out.

Hello,

I've kept and bred K. eisentrauti, they can turn very dark sometimes. But not as Stomatepia pindu. Do you keep Stomatepia pindu with them ? maybe you have a photo ?
Best regards, Michael

I used to have Stomatepia but lost them, these few young are certainly as dark as my Stomatepia were. no photos at present but can try.
