The main point that got me thinking of all this is, do rheophilic fishes enjoy what they have evolved for or is it a hardship they must endure?? Basically, do they prefer fast flowing water or prefer quieter waters? I think they "prefer" quieter waters - as we like junk food - we like it but may be...

I think that rheophilic fish developed to exploit a natural niche with less competitors and not because they like the speed. :lol: but as those fishes are clever I think if they could choose, they would choose calmer waters and preserve their energy - even if that is not good for their health. hope ...

I think it is the fish Oliver Lucanus have listed as Cichlasoma cf. ornatum

it is ashamed to be a cichlid keeper and don't share knowledge....

mine are in a school with A. nourissati and all have a great time together ignoring each other. :lol:

so it is advisable to put them with gibbiceps... as mine are now in quarantine for 3 weeks in a 300 liter tank but two don't look good. I think the aggression is the main problem of this specie. for some days I thought to put them with gibbiceps instead wesseli who don't like the gibbiceps bullies. ...

The other day i heard about a guy from Croatia who was looking for rostratus. He bought them in the Netherlands as well in a petshop in a town called Houten (the Netherlands). Are you that fellow Marko? Do you have rostratus from Holland? :) :oops: that is me! now every one will know I am addict to...

you change 50-80% of water to the irregulare? wow - that is the oposite of all I ever read. that is the info I am interested in - thank you. tell me how many of them do you have in the tank?

I had more looses regardless I put up the high demanding standards for keeping this fish. I would greatly appreciate someone to help me. thank you very much - maybe you will save some irregulare life... and some cichlidofilic nerves.
