Update:
Most of the fish are doing well with the exception of...
Taenicara candidi, died from unknown reasons
Chocolate cichlid, jumped out.
2 acarichthys heckelli, died for some reason hours after being released into tanks.

He is my skinniest apisto, as he refuses everything except mosquito larvae!!! once i gave him a live, inch long earthworm, super thin and he rejected, it i cut it in half but it still wriggled so much he would not touch it, i am now raising mosquito larvae for hima and everyday about 6 of size is gi...

looks like they could do with some feeding them up... Yes unfortunately i cant get live foods easily here and if they refuse the dry I dont know what i can do! i will have to go get some worms however (in the back yard). unfortunately i hav a bunch of pigs in the top layer that wont let anything do...

Dont get balzanni... i would go with two of each but then i have broken too many rules already. they sound pretty neat and those prices are decent!!!

Actually I identified fish as 2 different species: A. pertensis and A. cf. pertensis. Notice that I added "(?)" with each fish. These 2 species can be hard to separate. The true (holotype) A. pertensis are more slender, with a more cylindrical shape (round cross-section); males have a higher dorsal...

Hudson, I enjoyed reading your travelogue! It brings back fond memories of my trip to Peru & Colombia last October. BTW your "Copella nattereri" look like C. meinkeni, which occurs in the Rio Negro. C. meinkeni rarely shows a pale lateral band. C. nattereri as a highly visible lateral band. Thanks ...

Thank you once again mike wise. I have two differant species that you identified as Ap. pertensis. One (the most recent one) has much longer, pointed fins while the other has very short fins. also when one flares up the tail apears to have vertical red bands while the other, it just gets black edgin...
