Re: Pseudocrenilabrus from Congo?

Beautiful fish, Taeniopareius, thank You for sharing these pics! In my opinion, this fish is referrable to P. philander , which is currently not well defined and appears to be an assemblage of several species. Therefore, it cannot be excluded, that the Kafubu population has to be assigned to a disti...

Re: Question regarding Hemichromis species

Hemichromis angolensis Steindachner, 1865 appaers not to be a Hemichromis species but one of the Angolan haplochromines. It is however not identifiable. Re: Anyone know Odo?

According to Stawikowski & Werner (1998: "Die Buntbarsche Amerikas"), "Odo" is the common name of this species in Haiti.

Re: Pseudocrenilabrus from Congo?

Look like the headwaters of Congo River in southeastern Congo is close to headwaters of Zambezi River though. Maybe pseudo similar to kafue can be found in that part of Congo River too? The Kafue pseudo is interesting [nice blue chest and jaw]. Look like the headwaters of Congo River in southeaster...

Re: Pseudocrenilabrus from Congo?

About 15 years ago a brassy yellow form of Ps. philander of unknown origin was available in Germany, which I have never seen since then. The fish was similar to the one pictured by Kjell Nilsson in the CRC gallery, see: http://cichlidae.com/gallery.php?genus=Pseudocrenilabrus . I have seen an articl...

Re: Pseudocrenilabrus from Congo?

Hi everyone! I am new to this forum (but I was often guest and have read many interesting contributions), so let me first introduce myself shortly: my name is Rico, I come from Germany.
