Re: Paraneetroplus bifasciatus 'Rio Chacamax': Stunning!!

I to think the Chacamax Bifasciatum is one of the nicest CA

Here is a picture of my male. I moved them on because the pair spawned every three weeks, I was over run with little bifas!

Re: Chuco Micropthalmus

I to have the magnificent Chuco microphthalmus, which I have had for two years last October. Mine did not size out at all with the exception of the alpa male. All the remaining fish sized out when they reached five inches here's a few photos of dominant pair, they have spawned twice, but eat the egg...

Re: ExCichlasoma beani in the Pond

Nice video, Beani are very aggressive and difficult to keep in a tank, A personnel view is that the way to keep any cichlid is to give them the space they can maintain 'as there own' I am sure the space afforded to the Beani in your pond makes the difference Wish I could go down this route in the UK...

Re: Astatheros Rostratus

I have recently brought four wild caught Rostratus from Jeff, and have found them to be very aggresive which is a real surprise. The largest male had to be isolated, since then the lone female has lost the plot and the other two males are keeping well away except at feeding times when they suddenly ...

Re: Thorichthys sp. 'Gold Mixteco'

As said it is a truly beautiful species, i have three females no male, though i hope to collect one this weekend.

Both my larger females display all the time so i am sure they are desperate for a mate so hopefully i resolve this sad situation!

Lee

I have been told by Rusty that the digestive problems with the Media Luna fish are temperature related, Bartoni and Labridens should be kept at 30 -32c

Mine are in a 180 with a trio of Salvini and there is not much aggresion, the 5-6 inch salvini know who the boss

They look very similar to rio chacamax,i obtained 1 male and 2 females at the East Anglian Cichlid Group last October, which were collected by Alan Rowlings the previous year they are spawning all the time! I am currently growning the fifth batch of fry. Below is a picture of the male. http://i1227....

Re: Maps needed to collect in Mexico.

Michael

You can obtain good maps of Mexico from Stanfords of London, they have a web site

www.stanfords.co.uk

I have heard from a frequent explorer that you can buy maps when in Mexico

Re: Herichthys labridens problems

I to agree with Dan, I do however believe other factors are involved with the dreaded bloat. for instance I live in the south of England, our supply water (from the river Thames) has been recycled many times and contains all sorts of chemicals. Lee lives in the Midlands (please correct me if I am wr...
