Yes you're right nasuta work well as well although personally I believe they lack the colours that ventralis offer

I usually start with groups of 15 of any species I keep, mainly because I breed them

Re: custom 120X90 cm tank with X. ochrogenys - add other xen

Re: Difference between Ochrogenys Ndole and Mzuri

Thanks for that guys

Okay so the difference is in colour? is one more vibrant? have different spots etc.?

Tanganyikanhunt, where are you located?
I have a feeling you're not in Australia though lol

I've got Ventralis Zongwe and the Tanganyikan killifish haven't been around for 10 years here

Re: Difference between Ochrogenys Ndole and Mzuri

Hi Here are some pictures attached to show I'm confused What's the difference between Ochrogenys, Singularis and the variants? Xenotilapia 'ochrogenys ndole' is one species, Xenotilapia singularis another? and Xenotilapia ochrogenys a third? This is what is sold as Mzuri here http://boroniaaquariumi...

Difference between Ochrogenys Ndole and Mzuri

Can anyone point out any differences?

I have Ochrogenys Ndole but Mzuri have come up for sale so but I would like to know what the differences are between the two to decide which looks better for keeping :)

Thanks in advance

Re: Pictures of some fish

Sorry for the confusion
Yes you're right, that's a female in that picture
I also have a male in the same tank, he doesn't have the black ray and is a bit bigger
I am hoping they breed for me but they dont seem interested in each other

Re: Pictures of some fish

Got a male with her :)

He's bigger and doesn't have the black marking on the dorsal

They don't seem interested in each other though, although occasionally share a PVC (there's two pipes in the tank, with just sand)

Re: Pictures of some fish

Yes definitely! I've seen their colours being shown of numerous times when they were in a 3x18x20... now a 4x2.5x2
I even had a female hold two times for a few days! :)

I will post pictures when my O. ventralis Zongwe and C. furcifer Ruziba arrive

The ventralis are a very nice choice :)

What are the dimensions of the tank?

Beautiful pictures of the fish and the tank, do you have a video?

Re: Anyone have breeding tips for Triglachromis Otostigma

Oh thank you for that thread! :) that's the one I was talking about Sucks that all those beautiful pictures have disappeared though :( "FWIW male Triglachromis have black spines up front in the dorsal, females lack these or they're only hinted at." That means my female is bigger than the male, could...
