Re: 5 New Metriaclima Species

I guess that could apply to both sides, when applicable. In my opinion there are not Metriaclima nor Maylandia , just Cynotilapia , and I believe it is quite an irrelevant case Is this belief that they should just be in Cynotilapia, a change that will be reflected in your website soon? Moving those...

I directed him to the thread earlier this week. Juan doesn't seem to have an answer for this one.

Re: Enantiopus or Xenotilapia?

A number of our European friends have started to use Xenotilapia exclusively, for all of the Genera Dave has listed. Just checking to see if that is generally accepted now, or another one of those Europe vs. North America things.

Re: I'm not sure if this is normal...help!

All cichlids will do some pushing, shoving and chasing, just normal behaviour. Having said that your aquarium size is a real challenge for keeping cichlids. It just isn't big enough for fish like acei (6-8") and trets as adults. If you want to keep these cichlids, I'd recommend going with a 4ft long...

Re: Spot the mistake.

Indeed, black in the finnage, eggs spots, etc. are not reliable indicators of gender. Also if this is a fish that hadn't spawned before, it could be very difficult to vent at a small size. Venting after they have spawned is much easier.

Happy New Year all. Is there any further word on this? Sorry if this is going off the original topic, but contained within "Aibara's" quote is Neolamprologus fasciatus . Is this a move from Altolamprologus ? This site also reflects a reshuffling of the Neolamprologus, Lepidiolamprologus decks. I als...

An interesting and fascinating discussion gentleman. I apologize if I am bringing this discussion back to life after a dormant period, but I do have a question. Given the level of support that Maylandia has, has there been a proper description completed now, as to what differentiates Maylandia from ...
