Re: The Spectacular Acarichthys heckelii

They can be rougher than most geos once maturity is reached. In my experience in the past, they never killed one another. With my latest six, there is one that is becoming dominant but they are in a somewhat crowded condition with good water flow, so nothing really serious transpires. Here is a pos...

Re: Multiple Tomocichla Sieboldii with open sores?

There is only one remedie that helps 100%. Catch the fishes, put metronidazole powder for a while minutes on the wounds for 2-3 days. In the mean while make 2 cures with clout. It is a parasite that occurs in the Tamasopo (J.M.A.A. article). In our tanks it came from fishes like white labridens. Lat...

Re: Astatheros Rostratus

I just wanted to post my observation. I have 3 different groups of rostratus in my tanks. I noticed that while I am netting them or some of their tank mates they tend to jump like crazy. As I keep dozen of declared riverine cichlids I never saw such a distinct behavior in them (Theraps, Paraneetropl...

Re: A. rostratus aggression

I think they should not be housed alone or as single ones. I had aggression in a group only when they were alone. I kept them with many species, coeruelus, rhytisma, hrp, splendida, affinis and some other. only never with too much aggressive species. at this moment I keep them in 4 different tanks a...

Re: Two air pumps in one system

yes. I use two pumps in parallel, but not only to increase pressure but more to have a backup pump in case one stops working. I saw a few times my friends lost entire fishrooms because of air pump failures. it will always happened while you are on vacation....
