Re: Hello

Hello everyone, I attended the auction Saturday and got some really cool fish, and joined the club. I was very impressed by the variety and quality of fish at the auction. I have been keeping African cichlids from Tanganyika and Malawi for about a year now and am eager to learn more about these fis...

Free water test

I was at The Home Depot in Strongsville and when I was leaving I noticed a rack that free water test kits on it. You fill out the enclosed form, fill up the included tst tube with tap water and send it in the no postage necessary envelope. I just wanted to share this with the group. It's always good...

Re: Will Ancistrus species eat fry?

So now the fry are a little bit bigger than an 1/8th of an inch. Is it safe to add the Ancistrus back into the tank?

Fish Room Maintenance

I will use this section of my blog to write about maintenance that I do to keep my fish room in tip top shape. I had used a Marina hang on the tank breeding box for some fry. They were in there for about 2 months and a lot of algae and other "things" started to grow inside the box. After I had moved...

Re: BAP Question

While SL give a better decription of the fish, and it's what I use when selling fish or describing them at an auction, our BAP rules say 1" TL. I like mine to get at least a little bigger than that before I turn them in, though. Lew ok so here is the exact reasoning behind my question.... I have Lo...

Will Ancistrus species eat fry?

about 10 days ago I spawned Lepidiolamprologus Hecqui and I took the pleco and the parents out once I saw the fry leave the safety of the shell. Can I put the pleco back in or will it eat the fry. The fry are about 1/8 inch in size give or take.
