Re: Teleocichla ID confirm

Could anybody help me? If you see black dots on the back and on the bottom of the dorsal fin are xingu III (photo 4-5-6). Ciao Enrico Thanks Enrico, Dots are seen clearly, so it's a T. sp. Xingú III, then I have three T. monogramma and a T. sp. Xingú III. I hope to have a pair of monogramma.

Re: What makes a Cichlid is a Cichlid?

Teleocichla monogramma is monogramma because has only one line. In its description, Kullander writes: "Lateral line continuous (40 scales + four basally on caudal fin), slightly crooked above middle of anal fin."

Teleocichla ID confirm

Some days ago, I've purchased four T. monogramma , but I'm not sure if all of them are the same species. I think three are T. monogramma and one is maybe T. sp. Xingu III like I've seen in South American Cichlid I of Aqualog. T. monogramma http://i274.photobucket.com/albums/jj280/madgico/Teleocichla...

Re: Andinoacara (Aequidens)Coeruleopunctatus sex ID

Why do you think they aren´t coeruleupunctatus? RobinH. They are so similiar to pulcher that only if you know where they are from you know what species is.

Re: Biotodoma question

Hello Piotr, I explain my experience. I have four Biotodoma cupido in 1m long tank (120l) for more than one year, they are well, but I think it isn´t enought to see their natural behaviour. Of my four fishes, two are longer than the other, but I´m not sure they are of different sex. I think 200l it´...

Re: Biotoecus opercularis.

How about your opercularis? I´ve just seen your post, recently I´ve written a little post here, I know it´s a bit late, but maybe it´s useful for somebody.

Hello len, I think neither scientifics know which genetic factors are involved in OB. You can read in http://cichlidnews.com/index.html a very good article about OB written by Ad Knonings, it´s in april 2010 magazine.
