Re: Thorichthys Mixteco Blue

I tried to keep them around 75+, if you get a pair, they will breed regularly. Just don't keep them with anything too territorial.

Alfari

It has been a long time since I have been here to add something. It seems there are other hobbyists and Central American cichlid enthusiasts who I seldom see on this site as well, and I miss that. I guess we are getting older. Here is a video link of a group of Astatheros Alfari I have been keeping....

Re: Paraneetroplus breidohri: A Strong Case For Keeping CAs

That is one of the best videos I have seen on CRC ! Very clear and well done. I love the fish. Perhaps the odds of them growing up and making a pair against those odds makes their pair bond that much better ? A gorgeous pair of cichlids.

The 1st tank in the video show some growouts of fry of some Thorichthys Mixteco blue that spawned for me a while back. The 2nd tank includes the Alfari, the siquia...

Those are beautiful cichlids, and they show how strong the instinct to procreate is in life's creatures, even in a little glass box of water.

I have a passion for Thorichthys species/. I am keeping an adult pair of of Blue Mixteco from Rio Grande with some juveniles . I admire that you keep your groups of fish collected from different locations separate and pure.

Re: Red Tiger Motaguense

Very BEAUTIFUL fish. I admire those who keep working with a fish(s) for a good while to see theirr potential and all they have to offer , and don't keep constantly changing the species of cichlids they keep to chase the next new thing.... :D
