Perissodus multidentatus

Anyone ever seen Perissodus multidentatus exported for the aquarium trade? I know they are described as scale eaters so I'm sure that would limit the demand.

Trematochromis (Ctenochromis) benthicola

Came across some pictures of a "orange" form which was listed as being out of Burundi. Does anyone know if this type was ever collected, exported, etc... or probably just a one off that was never seen again.

Labeo cylindricus

Anyone have any experience keeping Labeo cylindricus with their Malawi cichlids? Just wondering if they get as aggressive as some of the other Labeo out there.

Not a cichlid of course, but has anyone ever seen any of the Anguilla bengalensis labiate eels exported?

Congo Cichlid ID Help

Not the best quality pics at the moment, but does anyone have any ideas on what these might be. They were supposed to be Pterochromis Congicus, but they appear to be a tilapia of some type.

Re: Bathybates Sp. Question

B. horni, B. leo, and B. vittatus, as far as I am aware, are only found offshore in deep water and are thus impossible to collect. Also, for those species that have been collected, they seem to be collected as juveniles in shallow water, and it is hard to know if the aforementioned three species re...

Re: Bathybates Sp. Question

Mark,
I'm in the USA. I had forgotten about B. Ferox, but I have seen those offered in the past as well.

Does anyone know why the others aren't ever collected? Is it based on where they are found in Lake Tanganyika?

Re: Tyrannochromis Genus

Paul, I believe Likoma is an island in Lake Malawi. The only variations I've heard about with the T. Nigriventer is that there is a visible difference between ones found in the northern part of the lake versus the southern part of the lake. I was thinking about trying to find some, most people say t...

Re: Tyrannochromis Genus

There was a good article in the April 2009 issue of Cichlid News from Ad Konings called "Tyrants from Lake Malawi". He said that T. Maculiceps and T. Polyodon are both synonyms of T. Macrostoma. It looks like much of the variation just depends on where in the lake they are from.

Re: Rhamphochromis sp. "Longiceps Yellowbelly" Spawning

Some of my smaller ones don't like the hard pellets either. I've had good luck using the HBH Soft & Moist Krill pellets. They come in two different sizes and I haven't had any problems with any of the rhamph's accepting them. Ocean Nutrition also makes a softer cichlid pellet I believe as well. Bren...

I've been looking for some also, seems like they are almost impossible to find and aren't really imported at all.
