Re: Xenotilapia flavipinnis photos

Stress and it take some time to find the good way to do it, I my experience, biparental mouthbrooder take more time to get their first fry to term. The only fish I keep succesfully with my Xeno are paracyprichromis nigripinnis!

Re: Xenotilapia flavipinnis photos

Whats the size of the little tank? You should only keep the pair in the 430 l. if you want them to breed on a regular basis. I've try to keep my pair with leptosoma Utinta and they stop breeding, they're now with Paracyprichromis Nigripinnis and start back breeding. But if I could have enough place ...

Re: X.flavipinnis holding.... need advice

Mine are really good parents, they are with paracyprichromis nigripinnis and their last two young and when its time to spit the fry for the first time all the other fish are push in a corner by the female and the male keep a close look at the fry. At any alert both parents take the fry in their mout...

I feed them microworm, baby brine shrimp, freeze-dried cyclop-eeze, golden pearl, crush NLS grow and crush spirulina flake. I feed them often but in small quantities!

6 weeks old fry, I'm surprised a fast xeno fry grow compare to Brevis fry! Bad pic, but best I've got from this shy little jumping thing

Re: Mouthbrooding Flavipinnis! He release the FRY ! New Vid!

Thanks, I've used a Canon 10D with a 50mm F1.8 mount on a 10mm or 20mm kenko extension tube. The light came from a two canon flash 550ex and 420ex. I shoot in manual most of the time at 1/200 at F8, something I close even more. The fry start to disapear, the mother don't protect them anymore and the...

Re: new tank set up

I'm not a expert but if I could have a take that size, I would put a rockpile on one side for a small Julidochromis species and a sand beach with a few shell for a Brevis couple. I have both species in specific tank and I'm sure it should be very interesting to watch interaction. I think its maybe o...
