Re: CA tank stocking question and pics

Thanks for your input. Actually sometimes I wonder if I have an all female group. The female dominant fish (the one in breeding dress) is the largest fish and in the 14 months I have them no other fish has surpassed her in growth. I would think male fish would likely have caught up in growth by now?...

CA tank stocking question and pics

Hi, I have a 100 gallon tank with plenty of filtration currently stocked with a pair of H. Nicaraguensis, 5 T. Sieboldii, and 1 T. Ellioti. The Thorichthys Ellioti are not often available where I live, but currently some are available so would love to add some....Would this be still feasible? Water ...

Re: Nicaraguensis colouring

My male nic keeps more or less the same coloration year round, but the female turns into a dull light bronze color when she is bullied. I had the best, consistent colors in my nics when two pairs were together in one tank.

Re: Multiple Tomocichla Sieboldii with open sores?

Upon returning from a holiday 4 weeks ago (3 weeks with limited feeding and no water changes...), I had a T. Sieboldii with a very similar sore on the side of the body, however the fish was still behaving actively and still eating. Due to lack of other medications I treated the food with Tetra Paras...

Re: (New) Tomocichla Sieboldii not feeding

Just wanted to give an update, the fish are feeding fine now already for some time, and recently also started to feed on New Life Spectrum pellets. This also took quite some time, i.e. several months, before they started to accept pellets...They don't seem to change habits quickly.

Re: Tomocichla Sieboldii Sexing

Forgot to add, seen males up for sale and they seem to have significantly more speckles in their finnage compared to my fish?

Tomocichla Sieboldii Sexing

Hi, Wondering is anyone with more expertise than myself could help me out sexing the fish pictured here. Last photo is of a presumed female since she's always displaying these colors, but uncertain about the sex of the fish pictured in the other photos...(except for the last pic, all other pictures ...

(New) Tomocichla Sieboldii not feeding

Hi, I recently bought some Tomocichla Sieboldii, got them 6 days ago. They were shipped by air and I assume must have been on the road for 12 hours or so. When receiving the fish they were in good condition albeit in very low pH with high ammonia. I flushed out the ammonia with pH adjusted water bef...
