Looks to be a pretty accurate ID to me. Very nice BTW. Where did you obtain these at if I may ask?

Re: Is this Heros Notatus ?

Your make looks exactly like my old male I had. I bought it labeled "red spotted turquoise severum". I was always trying to get a positive ID and the closest was (if I remember correctly) Heros 'Santerem blue'. I'm guessing it's a location variant of Heros Efasciatus or Notatus? Not sure but here is...

Re: Geophagus ID

I didn't really get much but A lot of back and forth about Neambi in that thread. So what would you ID mine as with the numerous thin bars like that and spotted tail?

Re: Geophagus ID

Definitely an Altifrons. Could be the newly described G. Neambi which was formerly G. Altifrons 'Tocantins' I believe. Here is a pic of one of mineImage

WC LEUCOSTICTA HITH?

I have a few WC S. Leucosticta and I've noticed one of them has what I think is HITH. Can anyone confirm this for me and share a recommended treatment? My water conditions do not fluctuate in any of my tanks other then the nitrates very minutely. Never reach higher then 30ppm. Well water 8.0pH and h...

Re: Geophagus ID

I was leaning towards Abalios too. They live with each other in the wild as well so I'm sure the two groups he got in at different point were collected in the same area so it makes sense that these are Abalios since I know that the other group was Dicrozoster.

Re: Geophagus ID

It's not a Dicrozoster because the second shipment of "surinamensis" he got from Columbia turned out to be Dicrososter. Here is a pic of one of them from the second batch. ImageImage

Geophagus ID

Got a few of these at my LFS awhile back labeled G. Surinamensis wild Columbia. I know they aren't true Surinamensis as they are only known to Suriname and they rarely at all export fish. Anyways I'm looking for a proper ID. Thanks

Geophagus ID please

One of my LFS just got this group in and he said they came in as WC G. Altifrons 'Tocantins'. Is this a correct ID? I'm thinking not. Would like to know for certain what they are as I want to get some. Thanks

NLS AlgaeMax and Super Red thoughts

Just wondering if anyone else uses these products as they are fairly new. I've been feeding my Geophagus/Satanoperca tanks with these 2 lately along with other NLS products. What's everyone's thoughts about these foods?

Re: Geo. Dicrozoster Bloat??

They find they same stuff in the fine gravel as they would the sand. Like I said its only .5-1mm gravel. It's super fine and they sift it with no problems at all. I feed them NLS as a staple and the NLS H20 Wafers which contain vegetable matter and spirunila. Also feed shrimp pellets 1 time a week. ...
