Re: Enantiopus?

The photos of the fish previously called Xenotilapia sp. forked tail - today I regard them as Xenotilapia bathyphila: 705084_375067909250004_611665310_o.jpg 705964_375066855916776_329772159_o.jpg Really bathiphylus? I would go for something in the direction of nanus or fluorescent green. But, whate...

Re: favipinnis or bathyphilus

I'm also going for bathiphylus, but it seems this one has a 'odd' head.
In my experience bathy's have a more elongated head, like ochrogenys and singularis

Cyprichromis questions

I have some questions about the Cyprichromis family, or more specific about Cyprichromis microlepidotus. How can you see the difference in sexes? I know with C. leptosoma and the 'Jumbo's' it's quite clear. A brightly coloured male and a somewhat bleak female Is this the same with C.microlepidotus? ...

Re: My tanks

Your female is 'recovering' extremely well and make her own territory as we speak.
As soon as I'm sure she's settled, I'll give her hubby a second chance :D

Re: My tanks

Since 2 weeks the 4 X. flavipinnis are swimming in the tank and things are going great. Even the combination with the X. spilopterus is great :D X. flavipinnis is more agressive within the species itself, but as soon as 1 fish is being bothered too much it simply 'hides' in the spilopterus group and...

My tanks

I currently own 3 Tanganyika tanks and largest one (2 meters wide, 70 cm deep and 50 cm high) is the one I'd like to ask a question about. The current inhabits are: 1 solo N. tretocephalus male 1 solo A. calvus black (2 semi-adults will arrive tomorrow so hopefully my male male will start a couple w...

Re: Will 2 kinds of Cyprichromis cross breed in a tank?

I think it's a pretty risky thing to do. If your intentions are to NOT sell the young you'll get in the tank, then I don't see an issue, otherwise..... On the other hand if your talking about keeping Paracyprichromis brieni in combination with a Cyprichromis species, I would say 'Why not?' I'm not s...

The point is I've got some Featherfins in my tank too

Hi there

Hi there :D

My name is Martijn, 32 years old.
I come from Holland, where I live in the southern part, together with my wife and daughter.

I may consider myself an aquafreak for over 20 years now and my main aquatic love has been (and will always be) the inhabits of Lake Tanganyika

Greetings!
