Re: Heiko's video

Awesome video and this fish is actually one of the next species I plan to own. It was intersting that they are actually being found in fresh water along with Brackish.

Re: Question...

I agree with the above post. I have my carnarensis in with Angelfish and they are thriving. They pretty much leave the Angels alone with an occasional nip here and there but at least I know the Carnarensis are safe in this tank.

Re: Cryptoheros altoflavus

Those fish will be stunners when they mature. I kept them a few years ago and they appeared to be some of the more mellow from the Cryptoheros group. Sadly I lost mine to aggresion and if I were to do them again it would be in a species only tank. Good luck with yours.

Re: H.Deppi or C.Salvini

I think that both the Deppi and Salvini would be too aggresive for that set up. I've had both and each species are fairly aggresive for their size and I wouldn't risk it with your Thorichthys at this point.

Re: Update of display tank 1

That is one of the nicest tanks I've seen in some time. You've done an amazing job and the fish are stunning.

Re: Etroplus Suratensis

I just picked up a small group from Rapps and I was told they were not being kept in Brackish water. I have had them for about 2 weeks and while they seem to be doing well I am ready to convert them to Brackish so I'm glad I found this post. Not much info on this fish and I am very excited to have t...

Re: Odd Looking Severums

They are indeed odd lookiing. Almost like line-breeding gone wrong. Could they just be a bit washed out and with a little TLC could make a comeback. The pics make it hard for me to make any real assumption at this point.

Re: Hoplarchus psittacus

The fish looks good but I have to say that I too have been thinking of ways to go about lowering my overall PH. I didn't really think mine was that bad until reading some Psittacus posts on this board.

Oh my what a stunning fish. Those colors are amazing. I just recently lost a male and even though mine was beautiful he was no where near as nice as yours.

Re: Hypselecara temporalis (Chocolate Cichlid) pair guarding

Gorgeous fish and one of my favorites. I placed an order through Rapps a while back and just happened to add the Temporalis at the last minute and only got a male. I really wish I had picked up a few females to go with him because alone he is turning out to be a stunning fish and I can only imagine ...

Re: Hypselecara temporalis compatibility?

I am keeping my Chocolates with Festivums and can see what some posters mean. My Chocolate pretty much keeps my Festivum at one side of the tank but no real damage is being done but it still doesn't deminish what the Chocolate is doing so I will probably move the Festivum out this weekend. I too don...

Beautiful fish and I haven't heard of them and I thought I knew everything Geo lol. Almost look like Gymno's.

Re: Hoplarchus psittacus

Those are stunning. I never knew you could do raise them in straight RO water unless I am misunderstanding your post. I have mine in 7.0 and they seem to be doing fine but I'm sure I won't see any breeding in my water. Are you mixing RO with Tap water? I would assume so. I do have an RO unit and hav...
