Re: Is this an Albino?

Like I said in earlier posts he has a pupil and was normal size but slowly got smaller until its current size now of just a small dot. I will keep him no matter what so honestly I do not care if he is or not. Just kinda cool to see him. I really doubt he is blind. He can swim thru decor in the tank ...

Re: Is this an Albino?

Both of his eyes are the same way. As for being blind he has no troubles getting food out of the water or chasing another fish out of his spot. By the way he acts I really doubt he has any troubles seeing. Within seconds of me putting crumbles (Which is his favorite treat) in the tank he is flying a...

Re: Is this an Albino?

Sorry to have taken so long to get this side pic of this guy. He is very tough to get a pic of. But I think it is a good one of him too.

Re: Is this an Albino?

I will try to get a side view of him. He is fast and does not like to sit still at all. It took me 2 months to get this pic. So far the pics turn out blurry from him moving. I was trying for a nice side shot but this one was the only one that turned out. I will post the pic as soon as I can get it. ...

Re: Is this an Albino?

I do not think it has any troubles seeing. It will chase other fish out of its spot in the tank. On another forum I was told it could be a Luecistic, like an Albino but can have color pigmentation on some areas of the body. As this guy grows its colors fade away. I have done some reading on the Luec...

Re: Ruby Red and German Red Opinions Wanted

Philippe, I do not know the species your talking about. But the ones I am talking about here are the same species with different trade names. They originate from the same species. One has been linebreed and one has not or is another linebreed variant of the original fish. At least this is what I hav...

Ruby Red and German Red Opinions Wanted

I recently got a trio of German Reds and have 2 F1 Ruby Red Females. I read an article how these are the same species with one being Linebreed and the other not. I would like your opinion if I breed these together would you consider them to be Hybrids? I am not trying to begin a huge debate just loo...

Re: Silicone Sealant

I use GE Silcone I, do not get the Silcone II. Also I like the Waterproof Window and door kind. This is what I have read is the most reccommended to use. You can get it at any Lowe's for around 5 bucks a tube I think your talking about.

Re: Joined Today

Thanks Serges, The two Copadichromis Virginalis species are different. The Gold Blaze has a yellowish/Gold Blaze across the top of the head and Dorsal fin while the Fire Crest has red in the Dorsal fin. It reminds me of flames on some of the males I have seen. Both of those I do have first dibs on a...
