Re: Kigoma Cyathopharynx: just one species or both?

Thanks. Is there a concensus or evidence for it to be furcifer, foae, or undescribed species?

Kigoma Cyathopharynx: just one species or both?

Wondering is there just one species of Cyathopharynx at Kigoma, or two species? In various stocklists around these are often listed as Cyathopharynx furcifer Kigoma or Cyathopharynx foae Kigoma, or even both on the same list.

Re: Mbuna fry control

I had tried putting in trap, but adults seem to try to get in the bottle to get the food too, preventing most fry to enter  Maybe i shall increase the number of bottles.

Still there is only so much fry that most people can take from me...

Re: Mbuna fry control

What about Stigmatochromis modestus, Lichnochromis acuticeps, and Protomelas sp. hertae? Or Tanganyikan species like smaller Lepidiolamprologus or Neolamprologus sexfasciatus? Or other lakes/regions? or even suitable noncichlids? Someone said Synodontis from Tanganyika are good at hunting fry, is it...

As long as they are not sold as a newly discovered species or as imposter of real natural species then they are ok.

Mbuna fry control

I have a large and quite heavily decorated tank with explosive population of mbuna fry [hard to take them out manually]. Is there any predator that would be good at hunting Mbuna fry but not big enough to eat adult demasoni-size mbuna?

Will electric blue hap easily crossbreed with lithobates?

Since I've read somewhere that electric blue hap [S. fryeri] may crossbreed with other haps, is it likely or unlikely for the electric blue to crossbreed with Otopharynx lithobates sulphur head if both sexes groups are kept together?

Wondering would female Nimbochromis livingstonii or N. venustus be aggressive against other slightly smaller to larger cichlids and noncichlids in general?

choosing between micro Bemba or Kavala

Many color forms of Cyprichromis microlepidotus Bemba [Pemba] and Kavala [Kavalla] are similar to each other, but some are different. If you can choose to keep one population of the two only which one you would keep?
